Supported Living at Family Care Trust
At Family Care Trust, our Supported Living services help adults with learning disabilities and other support needs to live as independently as possible, while having the reassurance of personalised support from an experienced and caring team.
Our supported living homes at Meadow Drive in Hampton-in-Arden and Dassett Road in Bentley Heath provide comfortable, welcoming environments where people can build confidence, develop everyday living skills and enjoy greater choice and independence.
A Home with the Right Support
We believe supported living should feel like exactly that – living in your own home, rather than living in a care setting.
The people we support are encouraged to make choices about their day-to-day lives, develop their own routines and take an active role in looking after their home. Our staff are there to provide the right level of support for each individual, helping them to achieve their personal goals while promoting independence wherever possible.
Support can include developing skills such as:
- Cooking and preparing meals
- Shopping and budgeting
- Cleaning, laundry and household tasks
- Managing appointments and everyday routines
- Accessing the local community
- Taking part in social and leisure activities
- Developing confidence and communication skills
- Maintaining relationships with family and friends
- Building skills for greater independence
- Accessing work, volunteering and meaningful daytime opportunities
Meadow Drive – Hampton-in-Arden
Our Meadow Drive supported living service is located in the village of Hampton-in-Arden, providing a homely setting with access to the surrounding community.
Residents are supported to lead active and fulfilling lives, with support tailored around their individual needs, abilities and aspirations. This can range from help with everyday household tasks through to more personalised support with accessing the community, attending appointments and taking part in activities.
The focus is always on helping each person have as much choice, control and independence as possible.
Dassett Road – Bentley Heath
Our supported living service at Dassett Road in Bentley Heath provides another welcoming home where individuals can develop independent living skills while receiving support from the Family Care Trust team.
Residents are encouraged to be involved in decisions about their home and their lives, whether that means planning meals, going shopping, developing new skills, enjoying hobbies or becoming more involved in their local community.
Our team works closely with each individual, their families and other professionals to provide consistent, person-centred support that can adapt as needs and circumstances change.
Person-Centred Support
No two people are the same, which is why our support is built around the individual.
We take time to understand what is important to each person – their routines, preferences, abilities, interests and ambitions – and work with them to develop the skills and confidence they need to live a fulfilling life.
For some people, success might mean learning to prepare their own evening meal or manage their weekly shopping. For others, it could mean travelling more independently, joining a community group, developing employment skills or simply feeling more confident making their own choices.
Whatever the goal, our role is to provide support with people, rather than doing everything for them.
Being part of the Trust means residents can benefit from links with our wider services and opportunities, including Newlands Bishop Farm, community activities and other programmes designed to promote independence, confidence, wellbeing and inclusion.
