Aim
The aim of the course is to provide a summary of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 changes through the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

• What are the changes to the Mental Capacity Act
• What created the need to amend the Mental Capacity Act to include these new safeguards
• What are some of the indicators of potential deprivation
• Who is responsible for doing what under this legislation
• How safeguards work in practice
• Case scenarios which may lead to a potential DoLS
