Aims

This course will enable staff to gain an awareness of dementia.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session participants will have an understanding of:

• What dementia is
• The key features of the theoretical models of dementia
• Know the most common types of dementia and their causes
• The factors relating to an individual’s experience of dementia
