Learn and develop

"The Family Care Trust has its own training team which is able to provide many courses that are mandatory, both in care and within industry and other work situations.

The training team is able to provide courses that can be "off the peg" or tailored to particular needs. It has a reputation for providing excellent courses which matches mantatory demands with on-the-job needs.

Chris Fanos, the Learning, Development and Student Unit manager, said: "We take great care to ensure that all our training programmes not only meet statutory requirements, but also that they are relevant to staff, service users and carers alike. Learning is so much easier when people are able to relate their training to their practice."

"We are also closely involved with the professional training of social workers and are partners in training with many of the local universities.

"Our on-the-job training (placements) for students studying for degrees in Social Work are highly regarded and much sought after."
