The Family Care Trust has 120 employees and some 50 volunteers all of whom work hard to provide a caring, supportive service for those who have a disability or illness. We have helped many thousands of individuals over the past 15 years+ and take great pride in the many close relationships that we have developed.

We work closely with health and social care professionals to meet the needs of those who are referred to FCT. We have duty managers that support front line staff out of office hours and are able to provide assessments at short notice. The seven bed respite unit at Colebrook Accessed through Solihull Adult Social Work team can provide care at minimal notice to service users aged 50+ who have a confused state, providing proper assessments have been undertaken.

Contracts are held with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council for Older Person Day Care (Including EMI), Community Support (Mental Health), Adult Learning Disability Employment Skills, Adult Learning Disability Extra Care Housing, Adult Befriending (Mental Health) and Older Person Respite Care (EMI).

We regularly supply Respite Care for Warwickshire County Council and Birmingham City Council on a spot basis. Community Support (Mental Health) is also contracted by Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council and the Dudley & Walsall NHS Mental Health Trust. Young person’s outdoor educational facilities are provided at Newlands Bishop Farm to the Education Department of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Birmingham City Council.
We train and develop our staff and have a learning centre dedicated to providing up to date courses that will enhance support to our service users. Our staff have qualifications in care, catering, transport, safety and other specialisations that underpin the quality of the services we provide.

In 2011 the charity achieved the ISO 9001 Quality Management System standard for all of the support we provide. This independently audited international standard provides a structure within the organisation to ensure customer service is a top priority, and that proper procedures are in place for all critical areas.
