![]() | Past
is kept alive The Croft Day Centre, at Hobs Moat, Solihull, was the pilot for centres throughout the country 14 years ago. Since that day neither it nor its clients have ever looked back. Chris Cowie, the manager, (pictured left), was at the centre during its first three years run by Solihull Social Services and is now with the Family Care Trust. She said: “We are basically a one-stop caring shop. Our clients are our paramount concern, we’ve fed their dogs and just popped in to say ‘hello’ when they’ve been poorly.” The centre has mementoes donated by clients, these are proudly on display and help to remind clients of their younger days. Activities, such as gardening, DIY, crafts, games and outings are key. The focus is on support, stimulation and smiles. | |
